Story Scrolls are collectible items in the console versions of the Skylanders series. Each scroll tells about Skylands' history or details of certain characters and items.

Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure

Below is a list of all story scrolls and their contents in the game.

Portals

Location: Shattered Island

"While the shape and size of Portals vary, under the control of a true Portal Master, these mystic devices can connect two points in space, Dimension and, if we are to believe ancient legends, even time. Portal Masters can send Skylanders and magic to the other side."

The Problem with Sheep

Location: Perilous Pastures

"A note from Hugo says, "Sheep are among the most feared creatures in Skylands. Those Mabu having fallen asleep while counting large herds of sheep, often discover their belongings missing when they wake up. When questioned of course, the sheep never admit to have taken anything."

Fairy Upgrades

Location: Sky Schooner Docks

"For as long as anyone can remember, Skylanders have been friends with fairies. Perhaps this is because fairies can turn treasure into a kind of upgrade magic that gives Skylanders exciting new powers and abilities, plus delightfully fresh breath."

Tornado Sightings

Location: Stormy Stronghold

"A note from Hugo says "While everybody fears large destructive tornadoes, smaller friendlier ones are quite popular in Skylands. Mabu come from all over to throw unwanted items into small tornadoes - things like garbage, tax forms and when possible, sheep."

From Tonic to Toxic

Location: Oilspill Island

"Originally, oil was a popular hair tonic for Molekin. Unfortunately, it made all of their hair fall out. Now that the Molekin are all bald, Oil is pretty much used as a fuel source for tech machines."

Pirate Problems

Location: Dark Water Cove

"A note from a salty seadog says "It's not easy being a Pirate. Many complain of long hours, sea sickness and parrot bites. Worst of all is having to explain what a poop deck is."

Tales of the Fish

Location: Leviathan Lagoon

"A note from Professor P. Grungally says: "For years, fishermen have hunted an enormous, hungry fish that lurked in the deep end of the lagoon. No one has seen the fish lately... or the fishermen, come to think of it."

Stone Masons

Location: Crystal Eye Castle

"A note from Professor P. Grungally says "Cyclopses are amazing stone masons. They've constructed stone castles, statues and temples throughout the Skylands. The stone carved ships of the Cyclops Navy were not their proudest moment..."

What Makes a Portal Master?

Location: Stonetown

"Neither royal blood nor a sea of gold can make you a Portal Master. Either you are lucky enough to be born with the power to wield a Portal or you are not - It's that simple. What we don't know is why the number of Portal Masters rises and falls over the centuries. Perhaps they simply appear when they are needed most."

History of Flight

Location: Treetop Terrace

"A note from Professor P. Grungally says "despite claims that the Drow invented balloons, it was actually a Chompy who came up with the idea. Drinking two hundred flasks of fizzy juice, a Chompie inflated to twenty times It's size and floated away, burping like mad."

Elder Elementals

Location: Falling Forest

"Today, there are dozens of brave Skylanders and in the past, hundreds more. But the most powerful of all Skylanders were the Elder Elementals. These giants possessed powers of Light and darkness within their flesh. No one has seen an Elder Elementals in centuries, but there are rumors that they will return someday."

The Game of BOOM!

Location: Troll Warehouse

"Chompies are one of the most common monsters in Skylands, but fortunately they not very smart. In fact, trolls sometimes play fetch with Chompies using lit dynamite. They call this game BOOM! But then, trolls call all their games BOOM!"

Evolution of Trolls

Location: Goo Factory
"Trolls once lived under bridges and made anyone who crossed over pay them a toll. But in truth, most people got over the bridge without paying a toll, using billy-goats, "Fools Gold" and "Fools Potatoes". So the trolls gave up collecting tolls, crawled out from under their bridges and went to work for Kaos."

Special Order 31

Location: Battlefield

"A note from a troll commander says "Strange and odd behavior attracts fire from enemy positions, which might result in injury, so please refrain from following activities: barbwire tug-of-war, minefield races and hand grenade juggling contests."

Eon's Origin

Location: Crawling Catacombs

"I, Eon, began my life as a humble servant boy, polishing pans in the kitchen of the Portal Master Nattybumpo. People realized I was no normal boy when, at the age of 8, I activated Nattybumpo's own portal and teleported him, possibly accidentally, into the middle of the Dirt Sea."

Life and Undead

Location: Cadaverous Crypt

"The Philosopher King Mortalannis, First Lord of the Undead said, 'While the Living fear the Undead, the opposite is not true. The Undead are reasonable, they simply wish the Living to stop... well... living. Where is the confusion? We will all be on the same team... eventually.'"

Skylander's Battle Cry

Location: Creepy Citadel

"When Skylanders travel though a portal, it is customary for them to yell out a fierce battle cry when they appear. In fact, each year, there is a great contest too see whose Cry is the loudest, the most frightening and the best at making milk shoot out of other people's noses."

Core of Light Origin

Location: Molekin Mine

"Who created the Core of Light? None other than Benevolent Ancients who vanished a thousand years ago. Their machine filled the skies with Light and kept The Darkness at Bay. At least until that fool Kaos, destroyed it. Now, The Darkness spreads."

Floating Islands

Location: Lava Lakes Railway

"Skylands is an endless sea of clouds in which float rocky islands too numerous to count. Some of these Islands are as large as an entire kingdom while others overflow with salty seas or are swollen with fiery volcanoes. Each is unique."

Skylanders

Location: Quicksilver Vault

"Skylanders have a bond with their Portal Masters that is unbreakable, but they are not slaves. They have chosen to serve their Portal Master and do so eagerly. When Skylanders are defeated in battle, they instantly portal back home, where they can heal and rest."

Arkeyan History

Location: Arkeyan Armory

"Long ago, the evil Arkeyan Sorcerer kings, who lived within dark cities deep underground, met their doom. The three magicians of Skylands combined their strength to bind the Royal City of Arkus in a vault of eternal sleep. All that remains of their decadent empire are their machines, toiling away in the darkness, for all eternity."

Origin of Kaos

Location: Lair of Kaos

"Some say Kaos was born a prince, but after years of suffering insults about his ugly looks and bad smells, he kicked his father in the widdershins, gave up his royal name and headed out into the wilderness along with his faithful and equally ugly butler, Glumshanks."

Empire of Ice

Location: Empire of Ice

"Stories are still told about the greatest catapult ever built -- "The Leveler" -- which has defended the warm valley of Vindlevale for centuries. Without 'The Leveler', there is little chance that Vindlevale could defend itself against the cold-loving armies of Ice Ogres and Snowclopes that dwell nearby."

Pirate Seas

Location: Pirate Seas

"Pirate buccaneers range far and wide across the seas of Skylands, but the most villainous, scurviest Pirate of them all is the seadog Captain Dreadbeard. Even now, he is said to be looking for his next helpless village to plunder. Remember this!... his only weakness is his love of pirate card games."

Darklight Crypt

Location: Darklight Crypt

"For as long as anyone can remember, the Darklight Crypt has sent out hordes of ghosts and zombies to terrorize nearby villages. But lately, all that has changed. The Undead no longer seem hungry for the living. What could have caused this odd change in appetite and how long will it last?"

Dragon's Peak

Location: Dragon's Peak

"The Dragon king Ramses has his throne atop a giant rock spike, known as DRAGON'S PEAK. This place is special to dragons, because whichever one of them controls its very top becomes the new king. Some fear that Vathek, an undead dragon - and the king's evil brother, may one day try to steal the throne."

Skylanders: Giants

Avalanche Anticipation

Location: Time of the Giants

"Despite such snowy conditions, those who reside in the Frozen Wastelands have never seen an avalanche. Residents are know to throw bombs off the side of the islands in the hopes of triggering one. Just to have a story to tell their children, I suppose."

Chompy Pits

Location: Junkyard Isles

"While standing around and waiting for more Chompies to come eat you is generally dangerous, there are those who enjoy dropping into special Chompy pits over and over again. There must be some kind of reward down there. Or perhaps all of these people are just insane?"

Mole Drop!

Location: Rumbletown

"One of the stranger Molekin traditions is to enter a neighbors home by way of the chimney, completely unannounced, and yell "Mole Drop!". At that point, the inhabitant would then give them a prize based on how surprised they were. One such resident was known to always be very surprised, thus leaving the best prizes."

Forger's Basement

Location: Cutthroat Carnival

"Besides cheap forgeries, there are real treasures to be found in a place known as the Forger's Basement. You just may need to do a little creative remodeling to find them."

Arkeyan Memory

Location: Glacier Gully

"While Arkeyans tend to remember things above and to the side of them, they have a hard time with things physically below them. Odd as that may seem, it does explain why they generally avoided burying the treasure they acquired. Those who did place treasure in spots regarding a drop in elevation to find would almost always forget about them."

Onk and a Totem

Location: Secret Vault of Secrets

"It was Onk Beakman who first wrote, 'The eyes are the window to the mouth. The mouth, the doorway to the eyes'. In Brock's Rumbletown, a certain totems eyes and mouth can allow access to another kind of doorway, but Onk would not know of this as it is one of the many villages the celebrated penguin novelist is banned from entering."

Sky Pirates

Location: Wilikin Village

"A common question people have about Sky Pirates is what they do with all the loot and prisoners they pillage on their in-flight raids. The answer is quite simple: They store it in the hull of their ship. Where else would they put it?"

Those Wacky Arkeyans

Location: Troll Home Security

"While not known for their sense of humor, Arkeyans did enjoy playing the occasional prank, particularly in their Secret Arkeyan Vault of Secrets. The prank involved hiding a teleporter under things like pottery, and then asking someone to go grab said piece of pottery. The unsuspecting target was suddenly teleported away, giving the prankster the closest thing Arkeyans have to a laugh."

Squirreling vs Hiding

Location: Kaos' Kastle

"Though Kaos's demands that all treasure found by his drilling machine, Drill-X, be turned over to him, some say that Drill-X may have squirreled away some of that treasure for himself. Others say that he hid it. Then others say that "squirreling away" and "hiding" are pretty much the same thing. In any case, pay special attention to the floors when you visit his big rig."

A Real Ladies Man

Location: Aerial Attack!

"It should come as no surprise that Kaos was never popular with the girls. As a young lad, he used to practice serenading them, pretending they were standing atop various balconies throughout his castle, often substituting large pieces of treasure for the girl. Quite pathetic, really.

Nice Try, Kaos

Location: Drill-X's Big Rig

"One of Kaos' first attempts to take over the world did not involve force at all. He simply built statues of himself and placed them throughout Skylands. He figured that if he placed enough, people would just assume he was ruler. The Trolls, however, found a completely different use for these statues: covering up secret teleporters."

Trial of Wealth

Location:Molekin Mountain

"Doing the exact same thing over and over again and expecting different results may sometimes be referred to as insanity but it can also lead to a special reward. At least, on the path to wealth it can."

Arkeyans Before Dressers

Location: The Oracle

"The Arkeyans took great pride in their complex system of using light beams to pull platforms around and this was once the preferred method of storing valuables. That was until they invented the dresser. It is quite possible, though, that some purists left a special item or two out on those platforms and that is where they remain to this day."

Wilikin Neighbors?

Location: Autogyro Adventure

"Years ago, a group of cave dwellers used to live among the Wilikin until they mysteriously disappeared one day. It was discovered that there were great many entrances to their caverns that were later covered up with large boulders, appearing as though someone was trying to keep something from entering the caves. Or exiting."

Roboto Ball

Location: Lost City of Arkus

"Roboto Ball was once a popular sport among Arkeyans. Their favorite part was that the roboto-balls themselves have the tendency to explode. Made for some exciting action on the field but also led to many accidental explosions when these roboto-balls were used at home, which in turn led to property damage and the occasional reveal of hidden treasure stashes."

Classic Pirates

Location: Bringing Order to Kaos!

"Of the many mistakes the pirate made with Cutthroat Carnival - underestimating the public's fear of an amusment park owned by pirates, calling it, 'Cutthroat Carnival', selling salt water taffy - perhaps the worst one was thinking the customers would pay money to be locked in a jail and shot by a cannon. Most of them ran screaming, leaving some valuables behind."

Skylanders: Swap Force

Magical Pyrotechnics

Location: Mount Cloudbreak

"Diggs the Molekin said that the eruption of Mt. Cloudbreak is one of the most spectacular displays of magic in all of Skylands. He also theorized that staring at it for too long might actually cause severe blindness."

Greeble Lands

Location: Cascade Glade

"No one really knows where the strange army of Greebles actually comes from. Many believe that they simply hatch from colored eggs. But for a relatively affordable fee, power hungry wizards and sorcerers can order them by the dozen in the "Minions Monthly" catalog. Sometimes they'll even throw in a free hat."

Magical Recycling

Location: Mudwater Hollow

"Whenever magic is performed in Skylands, there is often a little extra left over, which eventually ends up in the Cloudbreak Islands. There, the Ancient Elementals absorb the magic and save it until it is time to release it back into the world with the eruption of Mt. Cloudbreak. It's like magic recycling!"

The Grave Monkey

Location: Rampant Ruins

"For thousand of years, the Stone Guardian, more commonly known as the Grave Monkey , has stood watch over the robot cemetery. It is often seen stomping on pesky robots that are attempting to rise from the grave, and sometimes it can be seen eating large bananas."

The Glass Hat

Location: Iron Jaw Gulch

"For a brief time, hats made entirely of glass were all the rage in Skylands. This prompted the king of the desert to spend his entire fortune constructing the largest one ever seen. After several unfortunate accidents, glass hats were all deemed illegal and banned from Skylands. But one of them remains in Iron Jaw Gulch to this day."

Motleyville Junk

Location: Motleyville

"There is an old saying in Skylands "One Mabu's trash is another Mabu's treasure". Perhaps that's why Sharpfin, the Baron of Motleyville is rumored to be the wealthiest person in the Cloudbreak Islands. It is said that there is no junk he would not accept, as long as he could sell it back to you for three times it's value."

The Fire Vipers of Doom

Location: Twisty Tunnels

"For thousand of years, Fire Vipers have been the preferred minions for Dark Portal Masters everywhere. Other favorites have included the Hydra, the Sand Serpent, the two-headed spider, and the less popular one-legged spider."

Frozen Galleries

Location: Boney Islands

"The fossilized, frozen remains of prehistoric creatures of Skylands are on display in the outdoor Frost Elf Museum. Miniature replicas of these great wonders were once available for purchase in the gift shop. But that too is now frozen beneath the ice."

Whirlwind's Gift

Location: Winter Keep

"Many years ago, the Winter Keep fell under a curse that made it midnight for all eternity. Luckily, the Skylander Whirlwind came to the rescue. She enchanted a crystal horn, called the Illuminator, which brought permanent daylight to the Frost Elves. Of course, now the elves never know when it's time for bed."

Party on the Mountains

Location: Frostfest Mountains

"Each year the Yetis of the Frostfest Mountains host a festival to celebrate the eruption of Mt. Cloudbreak. Unfortunately, no one ever told them that the eruption occurs only once every hundred years. But since they wouldn't be able to see through the never ending blizzard anyway, no harm is done."

Dangerous Perfession

Location: Fantasm Forest

"There are many who think it is unwise for Treemen to volunteer for the Skylands Fire Fighter Squad. It is certainly dangerous, but far better than joining the Lumberjacks Guild or the Woodcarving Association."

Kaos' Laboratory

Location: Kaos' Fortress

"The top secret experimental laboratory section of Kaos' Fortress is responsible for many of the unusual oddities found in Skylands. While most of it's resources are dedicated to the creation of strange monsters, there is a fair amount that goes towards the manufacturing of a magical ointment that Kaos hopes will one day grow his hair back."

The Clocktower

Location: Tower of Time

"The cogs and gears within the Clocktower move in perfect unison to keep all things in Skylands moving forward. Of course, this means that playing with the clock face can cause time to move backwards and on the rare and uncomfortable occasion... sideways!"

The Platinum Sheep

Location: Sheep Wreck Island

"The Platinum Sheep is a monument to the legendary sheep, Baaa-la the Fluffy. Sheep from all over will gather when this monument appears in hope that it will turn their wool into cotton candy."

Enchanted Pool

Location: Woodburrow

"The Enchanted Pool in the center of Woodburrow was once a popular swimming spot. But it has been off limits ever since Haldor the Wizzard dove underwater and claimed he was transported into another world."

The Great Hollow

Location: Woodburrow

"Before going to the volcano to replenish the magic in Skylands, the Ancient Elementals gather in Woodburrow in front of The Great Hollow- not to be confused with the Under Hollow, which is used for fishing."

Skylanders: SuperChargers - Kaos Diaries

Entry 1 - The Grapeness

Hello, future friends. Now that I - Kaos - am poised on the edge of my complete and utter domination of all Skylands, I feel it is my duty to make sure that my supreme glory is captured for all time so that future generations of evil will marvel at my awesome grapeness! WHAH!? "Grapeness?!" That's ridiculous. Glumshanks - it's supposed to be "greatness", fool! Now bring me new cue cards IMMEDIATELY! I hope you know you're embarrassing yourself in front of future evil generations of evil. Oh, and destroy this entry. This never happened.

Entry 2 - Fear the Doom Cranium

Once that FOOL Eon said my Giant Floating Head was ridiculous. WELL, WHO's RIDICULOUS NOW, GRANDPA!? Behold my NEWER and even MIGHTIER Ultimate Giant Floating Head - OF DOOM!. NOW - all who see it looming over Skylands shall tremble in total and complete fear of ME - KAOS! And I shall call it... my "Doom Cranium!" Ugh! No, no, no! Not evil enough. How about the Skull of Calamity! Eh - that's not it. "Melon of Marauding?" "Fear Noggin!" Ahem! Note to self: come up with better name for my Giant Floating Head - Oh and ignore ALL of Glumshanks' ideas.

Entry 3 - The Unveiling

After much deliberation, I have decided to call my shiny new doomstation, BUM BUM BUM BUMMMM!! THE SKY EATER! Now, behold, foolish Skylander fools, as your beloved Skylands is totally consumed by mighty floating creation - ALL to feed The Darkness which powers it from within! And as it grows - so shall my power! Then - I will unleash my ultimate evil plan for victory! Once my Sky Eater reaches full power, I will use it to create a Cataclysmic Mega Rift to finally and completely destroy EVERYTHING that those ridiculous Skylosers hold dear. HAHAHAHA!

Entry 4 - Super What?!

Ugh! Can you believe this? A new group of Sky-LAMOS calling themselves the "SuperChargers" claim that their PITIFUL vehicles are so powerful and fast that they can actually take on my awesome and beautiful Sky Eater. RIDICULOUS! Don't you fools realize that land, sea or sky - I KAOS now reign supreme! HAHAHAHA! Note to self: I seized absolute control of the portals to lock out that meddling POSERmaster. Send Glumshanks at once to find out how those STUPIDchargers even got here in the first place. Although I'm pretty sure it's somehow HIS fault.

Entry 5 - Fear Omelette

Hello again, my evil friends of the evil future caused by me - the illustrious Emperor KAOS the First. If you're wondering how my magnificent mind came up with such a brilliant weapon, then please read my book - "Evil - and Other Four Letter Words" - available in future evil gift shops everywhere. Alt titles: "Evil is as Evil Does". "How I did it - Evil memoirs of an evil genius." "You can't make an evil fear omelette without breaking a few eggs."

Entry 6 - Evil for Dummies

UGH! Mother has somehow managed to send me another meddlesom SELF-HELP BOOK from her mirror prison of endless oblivion. HA! As if I - KAOS - even NEED help! And even if I did, I wouldn't listen to this book's STUPID advice. Listen - "Do not hide the source of your power inside of a world-destroying abomination; instead, store it securely in a safe deposit box." Seriously? There's no box large enough to hold MY awesome power! HA! Besides, what self-respecting evil villain would even open a bank account?!

Entry 7 - Paved with Gold

To all future evil doers who may be observing my entries in the deliciously evil future that I alone created by destroying those miserable Skylanders... YOU'RE WELCOME - HAHAHAHHAHAHAA! Also - it may interest you to know that the road to my utter success was not always paved with gold. There were many struggles and setacks - usually caused by that fool, Glumshanks who somehow always managed to bungle my most ingenious plans at the last second. But not this time. NOT. THIS. TIME! PS - Just as soon as I've won and conquered Skylands, I'll be sure to repave my road to my utter success WITH gold - so you can forget all of this. Again - you're welcome. HAHAHAHA!

Entry 8 - It Has a Voice

Seriously - who knew The Darkness has a voice! It actually spoke to me! And - not surprisingly - the first words out of its - er, mouth ...thing - was MY NAME! Of course! No doubt, even The Darkness was moved to sentience by my incomprehensibly aw-inspiring presense! HAHAHA! Now - if I could just move my butler Glumshanks to higher intelligence the same way. NAAAH! Too much work - I'll just replace his brain with something smarter - maybe a squirrel or a butterfly or something. I wonder whatever happened to my old Arkeyan Conquertron. Yes, maybe I could just SWITCH their brains - then I'd have two mindless robot servants to do my evil bidding! INGENIOUS!

Entry 9 - The Butler Did It, Badly!

Okay, NEW GLUMSHANKS #63! Hold up the cue cards. And do it right this time! Evil future friends of the evil future! Everything is going MAGNIFICENTLY here without Glumshanks hemming and hawing and sulking around the place. AND GOOD RIDDANCE, TOO! Who cares that his FAR MORE SUBSERVIENT replacement candidates are unable to draw a simple bubble bath or trim the tiny crusts of MY evil sandwiches. They will bend like delicate spring daisies under the supreme weight of my evil iron fist! - BOW I SAY! BOW TO KAOS!

Entry 10 - Trimming the Fat

Okay, it's been seven hours and fifteen days since I fired Glumshanks and I still regret NOTHING! In fact - things have never been better. Why, workplace dissatisfaction ratings on the Sky Eater are at an all time high, no ridiculous butler trying to second guess my incomprehensible genius - and best of all, there's no more stupid troll sleeping in my sock drawer! Yes indeed, things have never - EVER - been better! Isn't that right, New Glumshanks #412? Wait, where'd you go? Hello? Helloooo? FINE! We'll just see what New Glumshanks #413 thinks about this!
