Squidface Brutes are squid-like pirate enemies that attack the Skylanders by slamming their large anchors. They appear only in Dark Water Cove and Leviathan Lagoon in the console versions of Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure. They can be extremely deadly if they land a hit on your Skylander with their anchors, as they do a lot of damage, and they can attack again almost immediately after successfully hitting you.
One notable Squidface Brute, known as Squidbeard, is a boss featured in the 3DS version of Skylanders: Giants. He assisted Dreadbeard in his conquest to plunder Skylands.

Trivia
- They are mentioned in Rip Tide's backstory, where it is stated they were sent by Kaos, confirming that some of them work for Kaos.
- They share their models, behavior, and pirate gibberish (sans their crab-claws and squid-faces) with Captain K9s, but in Skylanders: Giants, the sounds of Captain K9s were changed from the Squidface Brute's gibberish to new sound affects.
- The Squidface Brutes in Leviathan Lagoon are noticeably larger than the ones in Dark Water Cove.
- They are one of several enemies in the XPEC versions of the game who use their hurt animation upon being defeated, rather than a special defeated animation, like most enemies do.
- Squidbeard is the only Squidface Brute found in the 3DS versions.
