Soul Gems are glowing gem-like treasures that unlock a special upgrade for a specific Skylander. They are found in all chapters of the console versions of the Skylanders series.
After a gem has been found, the corresponding upgrade can be bought from Persephone or a Power Pod.
It should be noted that you can only find Adventure Pack Soul Gems in their respective level they come with (example: Sunburn's soul gem can only be found in the Adventure Pack level he comes with: the Dragon's Peak).
Locations
Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure
Skylanders: Giants
Skylanders: Swap Force
Skylanders: Trap Team
Trivia
- In Giants, two different songs can play when you get a Soul Gem; this normally depends as if you get it with a Giant, or a regular Skylander.
- In Swap Force, the order of the soul gems are found may indicate the release of the skylander, (for instance, Pop Thorn to Roller Brawl Wave one release, Grilla Drilla to Fire Kraken Wave 2, Smolderdash to Rubble Rouser wave 3, and Fryno to Doom Stone wave 4).
- Although Wind-Up's and Grim Creeper's soul gems appear in Iron Jaw Gulch which they came out in wave 3, that breaks the pattern.
