- Elite Gill Grunt's official art uses an edited version of his Series 2 artwork, with his Quadent Harpoon replaced with a regular one and a regular Water Jetpack. This makes him one of only two Elite Skylanders to not use the Series 1 version of his artwork that his figure is based on, along with Elite Eruptor.
- Coincidentally, both Elite Gill Grunt and Elite Eruptor were released together.
