“Stay Cool!”
    —Chill's official catchphrase

Chill is a former Ice Kingdom guard who is one of the Core Skylanders introduced in Skylanders: Giants. Her Series 2 counterpart is called Blizzard Chill.

Background

Personality

As captain of the Queen's guard, Chill was once the most feared and respected of all the people in the Ice Kingdom. She is a proud, noble warrior - but not afraid to play dirty.[2]

Biography

Chill was the sworn guardian and personal protector of the Snow Queen. As captain of the queen's guard, her many heroic deeds earned her the respect of the entire ice kingdom. But when the Cyclops army began to expand their empire into the northern realms, the Snow Queen was taken prisoner during her watch and Chill has never forgiven herself for letting it happen. Ashamed and embarrassed, she left the Ice Kingdom behind and sworn never to return until she could reclaim her honor. Now as a member of the Skylanders, she remains courageous and strong, while always on the lookout for her lost queen.

Story

History

As sworn guardian of the Snow Queen and captain of the guard, Chill held an important position in the Ice Kingdom she called home. Loved by some, feared by others, respected by all, she was a legend in the making until the day a cyclops army kidnapped the queen when Chill wasn't looking. Heartbroken and ashamed, Chill abandoned the Ice Kingdom and set off to win back the respect and admiration she had lost. In order to regain her honour, Chill is determined to track down the missing queen, but so far all her searching has proven to be in vain.

As a member of the Skylanders, Chill feels she has found purpose again. Whether impaling enemies on her javelin, freezing them in blocks of ice, or simply dropping a massive narwhal on their heads, she is pleased to be protecting the innocent once more. But Chill has never stopped searching for her queen. And she never will. Unless she finds her, obviously.[3]

Trivia

  • Chill, Freeze BladeSlam Bam and King Pen are the only four Skylanders who have ice abilities.
  • She and Slam Bam are both the only Water Skylanders with legendary counterparts. both of which first appeared in Giants.
  • She, Slam Bam, Freeze Blade, Grave Clobber and Dive-Clops are the only five Water Skylanders not based on aquatic creatures.
  • In Giants's early development, some of Chill's upgrades/abilities were differently named and arranged.[4]
    • "Imperial Armor" was called "Ice Armor."
    • "Cold Front" was called "Frozen Shield."
    • "Brrr Blade" was called "Ice Lance."
    • "Better Bash" was replaced by an upgrade called "Improved Glacial Bash," which extended Glacial Bash's range and allowed Chill to push multiple ice blocks at once.
    • "On the Rocks" was replaced by an upgrade called "Frozen Fury," which allowed exploding ice blocks to freeze nearby enemies.
    • "Call the Narwhal!" was called "Call of the Narwhal."
  • Because her ears are hidden under her helmet, Chill's exact species is unknown.
    • It's unlikely that she is an elf, however, as the known elves with irises have dark pupils.
  • Chill's hair is blue. This can be seen by the viewer in the 3DS version of Skylanders: Giants and in Skylanders: Cloud Patrol.
    • However, on her toy version, you can see a little bit of her hair, and it appears to be blonde.
  • In early development, Chill was called Ice Sorceress. She spoke in a high-pitched voice, and her original catchphrase was "Let's break the ice!"[5]
  • She, Doom Stone, IgnitorChop Chop, Flip Wreck, Wildfire, and High Volt are the only Skylanders who use shields.
  • She speaks with a thick Russian accent.
  • Chill is voiced by Julie Nathanson, who is the third voice of Belle from Beauty and the Beast.
  • Her quote "Chill power" may be a pun on "will power."
  • She, Tidepool and Rip Tide are the only three Water Skylanders who can summon cetacean allies to attack. Chill calls forth the narwhal to ram into enemies.
  • In Giants, Swap Force and Trap Team, in the image for Call the Narwhal, two penguins can be seen riding the narwhal.
  • It is possible that the face on Blizzard Chill's shield is the face of the Snow Queen she guarded.
  • For unknown reasons, Chill's Series 2 Counterpart appears as a separate variant in Skylanders: Lost Islands.
  • In Lost Islands, Chill mentions that Icicle Isle reminds her of her father, whom she called "Pop-Cicle."
  • Chill traverses water in Giants by levitating over its surface.
